Individual Support

At Carolina Community Support Services, Inc., Individual Support is a “hands-on” service for persons with serious and persistent mental illness. The intent of the service is to teach and assist individuals in carrying out Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), such as preparing meals, managing medicines, grocery shopping, and managing money, so that they can live independently in the community. Our qualified staff will work one-on-one with individuals for a period of up to 90 days prior to transitioning to independent housing and also offer in-home visits in Durham, North Carolina.

What Are Individual Support Services?

Are you or someone you love living with a serious mental illness and in need of support to live more independently? Individual Support is a time-limited, person-centered service for adults with serious and persistent mental illness who need help developing the daily living skills required to live safely and independently. This support is offered for up to 90 days and focuses on teaching, coaching, and assisting with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) in a structured and supportive environment.

We understand that transitioning into independent living can be overwhelming. That’s why our trained professionals provide one-on-one, in-home guidance to build essential skills and foster a greater sense of self-sufficiency and control.
